Almost a quarter of new car buyers in the UK chose an electric vehicle last year — that’s more than ever before.
And with the introduction of consumer grants on qualifying electric cars, switching to electric can mean saving money on more than just fuel bills.
Our Puma Gen-E electric compact crossover was the first car in the UK to receive the full £3,750 grant, quickly followed by our E-Tourneo Courier all-electric five-seat activity vehicle.
Supported by our Ford Power Promise, both are designed to help customers live their lives and explore with confidence — all with zero-tailpipe emissions while driving.

Q: What is the UK electric vehicle grant?
The UK Government grants offer up to £3,750 off the purchase price of an eligible new electric vehicle. The Ford Puma Gen-E and E-Tourneo Courier electric vehicles were among the first to qualify for the full £3,750 grant from late 2025.
Q: How does the grant work?
The scheme offers two levels: £3,750 (Band 1) for the most sustainable electric cars, and £1,500 (Band 2) for others. To qualify, an electric vehicle must be new, fully electric with a driving range of at least 100 miles and priced at £37,000 or less. The grant is applied directly at the point of sale by your dealership.
Q: Why do Ford's Puma Gen-E and E-Tourneo Courier qualify for the full £3,750?
Both models receive the full £3,750 grant in recognition of their proven sustainability credentials. Our commitment to sustainable manufacturing is key. This includes adhering to verified Science-Based Targets (SBTs) for emissions reduction and demonstrating low-carbon production for both batteries and vehicle assembly.

A significant factor is the UK-assembled and tested electric drive unit from our transformed Halewood plant, which powers these vehicles. Our Craiova facility also employs sustainable practices in the assembly of both vehicles.
Q: Why should customers choose our Ford E-Tourneo Courier as their electric family vehicle?
Our E-Tourneo Courier is our versatile, five-seat activity vehicle designed for everyday life. It offers up to 198 miles driving range on a full charge 1 — plenty for a day of adventure. If you do need to recharge while away from home, it and can add over 62 miles km of range in approximately 10 minutes using a 100 kW rapid charger. 2
It boasts sliding rear doors, two ISOFIX points for child seats, clever storage cubbies, and flexible storage for items over 1.4 metres long. 3 It’s also been designed with a commanding driving position for confidence, while the electric drive means quiet operation and a convenient one-pedal driving mode. 4
Electric motors also mean less maintenance, with routine servicing only every two years.

Q: Tell me more about the Puma Gen-E.
Our Puma Gen-E electrifies the UK’s best-selling car, bringing its distinctive design and fun-to-drive character into the electric era.
The 2026 model delivers up to 259 miles of driving range 5 on a full charge, and you can expect a city range of over 350 miles — allowing for days of charge-free journeys.
Charging from 10-80 per cent takes around 23 minutes on a fast charger. 2 For 2026 models we’ve also introduced our innovative BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, 6 enhancing comfort on longer journeys.

Q: Are there other benefits to choosing a Ford electric vehicle?
Absolutely. Beyond the grant, the Ford Power Promise offers free standard installation of a home charge point and up to 10,000 miles of free charging. This, typically lower EV running costs, can mean significant savings.
We even help you access smart energy tariffs like Intelligent Octopus Go, where charging your Puma Gen-E or E-Tourneo Courier can cost less than a lunchtime meal.
Q: I’m ready to make the switch. What do I do next?
