Experience the Future: New Ford Kuga SUV Now Hands-Free with BlueCruise

The stylish Kuga family SUV 1 is one of our most popular vehicles, and a big part of this success is how much choice and comfort it offers to customers.

Kuga is available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), full hybrid (HEV) or with an EcoBoost petrol engine, so there’s a version to suit a wide range of customers and needs. It’s also packed with features to make every day a little easier, like our SYNC 4 infotainment system 2 with Alexa Built-in, 3 and Trailer Tow Navigation 4 that can choose a route that suits the size of the trailer you’re towing.

The Ford Kuga is enhanced with new features for 2026.

But now we’re introducing a whole new level of convenience for Kuga drivers as we roll out our history-making BlueCruise 5 technology to the SUV, as well as enhanced infotainment features for even greater comfort.

BlueCruise is our hands-free highway driving technology, the first system of its kind to receive regulatory approval in Europe when it was introduced to our Mustang Mach-E 6 in 2023. It’s an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) 4 that allows for “hands-off, eyes-on” highway driving on approved highway sections known as Blue Zones, which cover more than 135,000 kilometres (84,000 miles) of highways across 16 markets in Europe. 7

Building on the capability of our Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) 4 it can actively control steering, acceleration, braking and lane positioning as well as maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. It also has the capability monitor road markings, speed signs and traffic, and can operate from highway speeds right down to stop-and-go traffic.

That means enhanced comfort for drivers and can reduce the fatigue associated with constant steering input helping you to arrive more refreshed and ready for your day. Introducing BlueCruise to Kuga means it’s now an option for even more customers.

The technology is available on new model year Kuga models with automatic transmission from April this year when equipped with the Driver Assistance Pack, which is standard on ST-Line X and Active X series, and optional on Titanium and ST-Line models.

Customers have the option to make a one-time purchase for BlueCruise – which permanently unlocks the feature on the car – or can subscribe through a monthly or annual plan for those who want to try it out for themselves, or only plan to use BlueCruise at certain times of the year, for example on long summer holiday road trips.

The latest generation Kuga also introduces an enhanced specification for the B&O Premium Audio system. Standard on Kuga ST-Line X and Active X, power is upgraded to a mighty 700 W, higher specification ‘midwoofers’ and separate rear tweeters and woofers mean two extra audio channels to create a fully-active system. That means more precise tuning for better sound reproduction, even at high volume levels.

Premium Connectivity 8 is also now available on all Kuga models, so you can access popular streaming services using the SYNC 4 system as well as play games and even blast out your karaoke favourites.

Whichever Kuga you choose, BlueCruise is a feature that can ease the stress of your daily commute, stop-and-go traffic and long road trips. Who knows, you may even decide to take the highway route home more often.
