Powering the Party with Pro Power Onboard at FAR Festival

Imagine dancing by the Mediterranean Sea under the Spanish stars, the bass shaking the salt air, by a DJ booth... built right into the back of a pickup truck. This summer, Ford is taking over Valencia’s coast as the official mobility partner for the second edition of FAR Festival, the city’s month-long seaside party uniting dance, indie, Latin, and electronic music fans.

Lots of festivals have branded stages, but Ford Pro took things further with the Ranger Plug-In Hybrid ¹ pickup truck and Pro Power Onboard.² With 6.9 kW of built-in power available, The Ford Stage put DJs performing live from Ranger pick-ups across the site.

Using the onboard battery from Ranger PHEV’s hybrid system, The Ford Stage kept the energy and atmosphere going for festivalgoers until the early hours between acts appearing on the marina’s main stage.

The innovative setup meant no need for a separate generator and the cables that come with it, and the load area is perfectly suited to holding a DJ booth and giving the acts a great view across the crowds.

What is Pro Power Onboard?

Pro Power Onboard lets you plug into the power from Ranger PHEV's battery. Available with 2.3 kW or 6.9 kW outputs, it can power lights, a fridge and coffee machine as well as recharging tools, batteries and devices — ideal for camping or remote job sites.

FAR Festival runs until the end of the month, and we’ll be there powering the party for thousands of music fans to make it a highlight of their summer.

¹ Ford Ranger Plug-In Hybrid homologated CO2 emissions 143-145 g/km WLTP Euro, homologated fuel efficiency 6.2-6.4 l/100 km WLTP Euro and pure electric driving range up to 43 km WLTP. The declared WLTP fuel/energy consumptions, CO2 emissions and electric range are determined according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EU) 2017/1151 as last amended. The applied standard test procedures enable comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers. A range of up to 43 km can be achieved with a fully charged battery - depending on the existing series and battery configuration. The actual range may vary due to various factors (e.g. weather conditions, driving style, route profile, vehicle condition, age and condition of the lithium-ion battery).
