We sat down with Iain Jones, vehicle program director for Ford IMG tolearn about the new 2027 Territory Platinum ¹ being launched in Vietnam.

What was the brief for Territory Platinum?

“We tasked ourselves with developing a version of Territory that appealed to those wanting the practicalities of a spacious family SUV with the style, comfort and features of a luxury vehicle.”

What’s different about Territory Platinum’s interior?

Inside, every detail has been thought through. Diamond-pattern, quilted leather seating, illuminated scuff plates, premium materials throughout, those are the things you see and touch. But Territory Platinum ¹ also works on what you hear and breathe.

Active noise cancellation reduces engine intrusion, creating a noticeably quieter ride. An intelligent air purification system with a PM2.5 filter and ionizer continuously monitor cabin air quality, helping remove particles, odours and contaminants.

"We kept coming back to the same idea: the cabin should feel like your sanctuary, not just a vehicle interior. That sounds simple, but it touches everything: materials, sound, and air quality. We wanted every sense to be considered."

And then there's the sound system: a 10-speaker setup with a high-output amplifier, tuned to deliver immersive, surround audio.

What technology does Territory Platinum have?

Dual 12.3-inch screens provide the main interface, one for instruments, one for infotainment, with Apple CarPlay ², Android Auto ³ and Ford App™ ⁴ connectivity as standard.

"We wanted the technology to feel seamless, not like something added on. You should be able to adjust your scent profile, check your air quality reading and queue up a playlist without fumbling through menus."

What driver-assist features does Territory Platinum offer?

A suite of advanced driver assist systems ⁵, including Traffic Jam Assist and Cruise Assist use camera and radar to help manage speed, maintain following distance and keep the vehicle centred in its lane.

What powertrain does Territory Platinum have?

Territory Platinum ¹ offers a 1.5-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder petrol engine.
