Ford Motor Company Recalls Certain 2025 Model Year F-250 to F-550 for Potential Brake Concern

Ford Motor Company is advising a small population of customers of certain 2025 Ford F-250 to F550 trucks to not drive their vehicles due to a missing brake pedal retain spring and round clip while the company supplies Ford dealers with parts and repair instructions to resolve the issue.

On these vehicles, Ford’s investigation determined that the assembly plant may not have installed the retain spring on the brake pedal assembly, which secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal.

If this concern is present, the brake booster pushrod may disconnect from the brake pedal. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Nos. 135 Light vehicle brake systems and 105 Hydraulic and electric brake systems, section S5.6 Brake system integrity. Furthermore, this can result in a loss of braking function while driving, which increases the risk of a crash.

Ford is aware of three reports and one warranty report related to this concern, representing two unique VINs. Ford is not aware of any accidents or physical injuries related to this issue.

Customers unable to park their should contact a local retailer or Ford’s Customer Service Center at 1-833-807-3673 for additional assistance.

This recall affects an estimated 2,345 vehicles in the United States and United States Federal Territories. Customers can determine if their vehicle is included in this recall by entering the vehicle’s identification number (VIN)  here.
