Redesigned. Essential. Your New Ford & Lincoln Apps

We’re introducing the new Ford and Lincoln apps, formerly called FordPass® and Lincoln Way, which will be the foundation for the future of our mobile experience.1

With the latest update available now to customers globally, the apps will load faster, look cleaner and give you one-tap access to the things you use most — remote start, charge level, and vehicle health.

Coming off the ground-up rebuild we rolled out last year, the update continues our apps’ evolution from a nice-to-have feature to a central part of Ford and Lincoln ownership. We want to earn the right to be in our customers’ pocket or bag, and that means being incredibly focused on customer feedback.

The new Ford and Lincoln apps, formerly called FordPass and Lincoln Way, will be the foundation for the future of our mobile experience.

We heard app users wanted:

  • A design that felt modern and innovative
  • Clearer, more precise climate controls
  • Fewer steps to get to vehicle health information

We delivered on that and more. As a result of refining our processes on the back-end, we are now able to bring features or quality improvements to users from concept to customers’ hands in a shorter amount of time, which will be key for the future customer app experience.

Our app team’s goal is to ensure we provide a consistent and excellent experience across a range of Ford and Lincoln vehicles with varying capabilities, including different app controls and tools, no matter if it is a Lincoln Navigator or an all-electric F-150 Lightning.

With this strong foundation in place, from design to back-end processes, the apps will continue to evolve regardless of which vehicle you have. And we’re just getting started.

Below is the nitty-gritty look of the latest improvements.

How the Charge Slider Works

If you want to adjust how much to fill up your battery each time you charge, or maybe you are headed out on a road trip and know you want to fill up to 100%, you can press this slider with your finger to move your target charge. Once you set your preference, it will charge until you reach the desired percentage each time you fill up, regardless of charging location.

Messaging and Alerts

Messaging and alerts are now prioritized, stacked, and more clearly visible so customers can receive and act on the most important information about their vehicle health.

An app screen showing alerts unstacked, so each one can be read

Alerts vary by model.

Building on a Solid Foundation

All of these design updates build on the features and experience our team has rolled out over the last year, driven by customer feedback.

  • Smart Watch Integration:  Manage your vehicle from your Apple Watch. Lock, unlock, remote start, check fuel/battery levels, view charging status, find your car, and activate the horn/lights.
  • Authorize Friends/Family to Drive:  Grant friends and family access to your vehicle right from the app so they can lock/unlock, start the vehicle, and view battery/fuel levels.
  • Schedule Software Updates + Dark Mode: Customize and personalize your experience by easily scheduling and managing software updates directly through the app, plus Dark Mode for iOS users, which came highly requested by customers.
