The deep, rich tone of the available, exclusive Blue Ember metallic tri-coat exterior paint makes an immediate statement. Originally reserved only for the Mustang Dark Horse, the exterior color is meant to highlight Expedition’s power, refinement, and distinctly premium identity. Available on Expedition’s stealth appearance trim, the anniversary appearance package is differentiated by its lighter, salt crystal gray interior trim.
Complementing this unique paint are aggressive 22-inch high-gloss ebony wheels. Their dark, sleek finish contrasts sharply with the Blue Ember paint, enhancing the vehicle's commanding road presence.
Finally, exclusive anniversary badging adorns both the exterior and interior of the vehicle, marking its historical significance. On the exterior, exclusive 30th anniversary badging can be found on Expedition’s center wheel caps, as well as the rear of the vehicle. On the interior, you’ll find anniversary badging on the vehicle’s door sills and even embossed in leather on the sliding center console. My Father, My Inspiration: A Ford Family Legacy
The automotive world was always part of our family — not just as a business, but as a constant topic of conversation, a shared passion that bonded us. As a fifth generation Ford engineer, Ford blue runs in my veins. My great, great grandfather worked at the Rouge Plant Steel Mill. My dad, Joe Neme Sr., worked in Ford vehicle engineering for 35 years.
While I was growing up, he wasn't just my dad; he was also a Ford engineer, a man who built the things that moved us. I would spend hours in our garage, surrounded by tools, dreaming of the day I could follow in his giant footsteps, creating and innovating just like he did. For dad, his work at Ford was a testament to our family's commitment to excellence and a personal mission to create products that would serve people well.
Of all the Ford vehicles my dad worked on during his career, it's the Expedition that truly connects his career and mine. During his time at Ford, my dad helped launch the very first Ford Expedition and several generations of Expedition after that.
And, Expedition wasn’t just his vocation — it was our everyday driver. As a four-child family, we needed all the space that the Expedition offered. I grew up in an Expedition, taking countless roadtrips with the family and weekend hunting trips with Dad in our hauler. It wasn’t until I was older that I came to understand why Dad was so adamant on refining the vehicle, making it the very best it could be. Because for Dad, his family was the target audience.
It was my dad who instilled in me the belief that thoughtful engineering could genuinely improve lives. I carry that with me in my role as a vehicle engineer for the next generation of the Ford Expedition. Every development run, every validation test, I try to remember the countless families just like ours who need this vehicle to be a safe space to foster the memories that last a lifetime.
Maybe I’m biased, but I believe cars are more than just vehicles that get us from point A to point B. They carry the stories of families; shared experiences that help shape who we are and connect us to the people and moments that matter most.
To be able to contribute to the same lineage that my father helped shape, to stand on the shoulders of his work and add my own touch, is incredibly meaningful to me. It’s more than just a job; it’s a continuation of our family's story, intertwined with the broader narrative of the Expedition.
