Meet Mustang Mach-E Trail: Made for the Road to Adventure

The best outdoor experiences often begin with the road that gets you there. It might be a gravel road to the trailhead, a dirt road to the campsite, or one last stretch before reaching the water.

The new 2027 Mustang Mach-E® Trail is designed for those drives and the experiences waiting at the destination.

We created Mustang Mach-E Trail in response to customers who wanted an electric vehicle that could support an active lifestyle and provide added confidence on the gravel and dirt roads leading to their favorite places. Mustang Mach-E Trail combines the everyday electric performance and usability customers have come to expect and love from Mustang Mach-E with purpose-designed hardware for the road to the trailhead, campsite, or water.

Designed for the Way There

Available as a new package for Mustang Mach-E Select eAWD, Mustang Mach-E Trail features specially tuned suspension with front and rear passive struts and springs, providing additional ride height compared with Mustang Mach-E Select and Premium: 10 mm more in front and 15 mm more in the rear.

The steering rack, 19-inch High Gloss Dark Carbonized Gray wheels with as-cast graphics and Michelin CrossClimate® 2 tires all come from Mustang Mach-E Rally, contributing to a confident, controlled drive with grip and control across pavement, gravel, and dirt roads.

“Mustang Mach-E Trail gets a suspension adjustment for improved ground clearance, and rides on the same Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires used on Mustang Mach-E Rally for added capability,” said Nick Rallis, Lead Mustang Mach-E Vehicle Integration Engineer at Ford.

“Together, they make Mustang Mach-E Trail capable for off-pavement driving, whether that's loose gravel, sand, or a two-track dirt road, with a significant traction benefit in winter conditions as well. It's built for all-season, off-pavement excursions, so customers headed to a trailhead, a campsite, or everyday driving through changing weather get real added confidence.”

Trail-specific design touches, including a Carbon Black lower front fascia and a Mach-E Trail logo on the center armrest, round out its identity and complement the functional hardware at the heart of the package.

Ready for a Shared Day Outside

The complete Mustang Mach-E Trail package also includes features designed to support the experience at the destination.

Standard 400W Pro Power Onboard includes outlets in the cargo area and at the rear of the center console. It can charge personal devices and run smaller accessories, including an electric pump for inflating a paddleboard, camp lights, a fan, or a pump for topping off bike tires.

A Clamp On Cross Bar Kit by Thule®, compatible with all Mustang Mach-E Trail configurations, is available on the Ford accessories site and gives you a place to carry bikes, kayaks, gear boxes, and more up top.

An optional Interior Protection Package includes all-weather floor mats and a cargo-area protector. It can be ordered with Mustang Mach-E Trail or purchased separately through the Ford accessories site.

Customers who purchase Mustang Mach-E Trail will also receive an additional 100,000 Ford Rewards points, on top of the 22,000 points that all Mustang Mach-E customers receive at the time of purchase. Once the purchase is complete, the points are deposited into the customer’s Ford account and can be redeemed toward eligible accessories that support their outdoor pursuits, as well as parts, merchandise, subscriptions, and experiences.

More Value-Adding Updates for the 2027 Mustang Mach-E

Mustang Mach-E Trail leads a broader set of updates for the 2027 Mustang Mach-E lineup:

  • Extended-range battery: For the first time, an extended-range battery is standard across the entire 2027 Mustang Mach-E lineup. Mustang Mach-E Select and Premium offer 88 kWh of usable capacity, and Mustang Mach-E GT and Rally offer 91 kWh.

  • Starting price: The 2027 Mustang Mach-E lineup starts at $39,995 for Select RWD before destination and delivery, bringing the new extended-range Select rear-wheel-drive option under $40,000*.

  • Colors: Standard colors include Desert Sand and Shadow Black. Optional colors as an extra-cost option include Adriatic Blue Metallic, Eruption Green Metallic, Glacier Gray Metallic, Race Red, Star White Metallic Tri-coat, and Velocity Blue Metallic.

  • Secondary drive unit: A new secondary drive unit (front motor) delivers the same performance as the previous unit at a lower cost, supporting the lower entry point with extended-range battery across the lineup.

  • Pro Power Onboard: 400W Pro Power Onboard is standard on Mustang Mach-E Trail and available on Premium and GT models, including Mustang Mach-E Rally.

  • BlueCruise: BlueCruise 1.5 is optional on Mustang Mach-E Select and Mustang Mach-E Premium, offered with the optional Tech Pack Lite for Select trims, and the Premium Tech Pack for Premium trims with one year plus 90 days of service included. It is standard on Mustang Mach-E GT and Rally, with the same one year plus 90 days of service included. Because Mustang Mach-E Trail is built on Select, BlueCruise hardware must be selected when the vehicle is ordered and cannot be added later. A one-time-purchase option is available on all trims equipped with the required BlueCruise hardware, with more information available on the Ford BlueCruise webpage.

  • Connected services: The Ford Connectivity Package and Ford Security Package are standard across the 2027 Mustang Mach-E lineup, each with one year of service included and also as a one-time-purchase option.
