Editorial Guiding Principles

Our Purpose

To shorten the distance between where you are and where you want to go. To connect people down the road and over the horizon — to discover possibilities, and enjoy the thrill, adventure and pride of moving freely.

From day one, Ford has provided people with tools to help them move forward and upward and innovated to expand their opportunities. And we've worked to earn their trust, every single day.

Our Storytelling

Our storytelling serves the best interest of Ford, our employees, our partners, and our customers. Though our reporting is not exclusive to Ford and Ford products, it is informed by our business perspective and the audiences we serve. Our editorial decisions are driven by our company’s purpose and From the Road’s vision. Our work is financially supported by Ford and our business.

Self-Reporting

We will report on Ford’s business and the progress our community makes against our company priorities. Given our biases, we recognize we cannot cover all topics objectively. If we make such a determination, we will refrain from coverage, as we know other organizations will do so more effectively.

Staff and Contributors

Our editorial content is a mix of contributions from our community, Ford employees, agency partners and freelance contributors, who are paid at a fair market rate. We do not pay sources. We will disclose when our contributors are personally involved in the issues we cover.

Artificial Intelligence

Though we embrace the efficiency, creativity and innovation that artificial intelligence (AI) offers, we are committed to using this tool responsibly and in a way that is consistent with our editorial principles. Any use of AI in our editorial process requires human oversight and accountability.

Accountability

We follow publishing industry standards for basic facts and attribution, and we strive to report factual and accurate information. We strive to correct factual errors quickly, completely and visibly. Email fromtheroad@ford.com with any corrections.
