Once Upon a Time... in Cologne

When it came to celebrating 100 years of Ford in Germany, we though it would be great fun to create a drive-in cinema for our employees to come together and enjoy.

As the curtains came down on the last drive-in cinema in Cologne, we brought the experience to our Niehl Plant, erecting a huge 16 x 8 metre screen between two of our buildings on the banks of the Rhine river.

Over eight nights we showed three of  2025's blockbuster films -  Superman, Mission Impossible and F1 - to around 2,000 employees who enjoyed complimentary snacks, including 1,000 portions of popcorn and 2,000 soft drinks.

It also proved to be a great opportunity for many of our colleagues to bring out their own classic Ford vehicles.

Each of the eight nights turned out be a blockbuster event and a fitting way to celebrate our 100-year history in Germany with the superstars who continue making what we do possible.
