Understanding driver behaviour is crucial for safety and the bottom line. We're bringing four key notifications, previously only on our Ford Pro Telematics web platform, directly to the Ford Pro Telematics Drive App's notification tab.
These aren't just “big brother” alerts; they're tools to boost efficiency and safety:
- Speeding over road limits: Helps drivers stay safe and compliant, reducing accident risks and potential fines. This also contributes to better fuel economy and less wear and tear on vehicles.
- Speeding over defined thresholds: Ensures drivers adhere to a company's specific policies, further improving safety and operational costs.
- Excessive idling: Pinpoints opportunities to save fuel, reduce emissions, and extend engine life – directly impacting running costs.
- Seatbelt violations: Promotes safer driving habits and helps ensure fleets meet important safety standards.
These insights give our customers improved visibility into critical driving data, empowering them to foster safer habits and manage their fleets more efficiently.
Find Your Fleet Faster: No More VIN Headaches
Picture this: It's a busy morning, and you need to quickly locate "that white van" for an urgent job. But if all you have is a long, unfamiliar VIN, finding it in the app can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.
If you’re one of the customers who told us how frustrating this can be, we heard you! The new update makes vehicles easier to identify by prioritising familiar details like vehicle name and licence plate over the VIN. Plus, we've added more ways to search:
- Model: Easily filter by vehicle type.
- Licence plate: A quick, common way to pinpoint a specific vehicle.
- Assigned driver: See which vehicle is currently assigned to a particular driver.
This means less time searching and more time managing.
Your Maps, Your Way: Customisable Views
Every fleet operates differently, and map tools should adapt to an individual business’ needs. The map screens in the Ford Pro Telematics Drive App now offer much greater customisation.
Users can choose between default, satellite, or terrain map types and overlay live traffic data. The best part? The chosen view is now saved and applied across all map screens – including the Map tab, Trip History, and Vehicle Location – for the entire session. No more adjusting settings every time you switch! We’ve also neatly tucked all map preferences into one new settings screen for ultimate convenience.

This gives more control and a consistent, personalised display. It’s available globally to all paid Ford Pro Telematics customers.

Ford Pro Telematics is available complimentary for one year from the warranty start date, and then on a subscription basis, subject to agreement to Ford Smart Mobility terms and conditions, and provides a comprehensive suite of features in addition to vehicle health including location and mapping, driving behaviour, fuel/energy usage, multi-make capabilities and a companion app for drivers to interface with fleet managers.
