Martin Prokop Becomes First Privateer for Ford Raptor T1+

The Madrid Community Fire Department deals with many incredibly tough challenges, from forest fires in difficult-to-access terrain to rescues in flood situations. We’re proud that our vehicles make a telling contribution to their daily work, yet we saw an opportunity to do more.
Their fleet now has another 42 new Ford vehicles added to the existing Fords in service, including several Ranger Raptors 1, so we suggested we’d help them understand the full capability of these vehicles. And we invited a very special instructor, rallying legend Carlos Sainz.
Sainz competes with Raptor T1+ in the Dakar rally so knows something about the limits of machines in extreme conditions. Having him there to share his expertise at the facilities of the Comprehensive Training Institute for Safety and Emergencies (IFISE) was a thrill for all of us who attended.
“With the Ford Raptor, you have an incredible tool. Its suspension is impressive, capable of anything, and its cabin is like that of a grand tourer”Carlos Sainz, rally driver
Aside from competing in a Raptor, Sainz also uses a Ranger Raptor as his daily driver. Naturally, this helped even further when explaining to the safety department’s instructors how to fully and safely exploit the capabilities. He then followed that up with a practical demonstration, taking one of the department's Raptors for a drive on the IFISE’s off-road circuit.
Its suspension system, with extraordinary FOX shock absorbers, allows Ranger Raptor to absorb virtually any terrain. It also includes the exclusive "Baja" driving mode, inspired by the most demanding off-road competitions. In the real world though, its combination of power, technology and reliability make it a true ally for professionals.
Having vehicles prepared for the real challenges of service and opportunities to exchange experiences with the specialised teams of the Blue Oval is very important. Long may we continue to equip public services with vehicles of maximum reliability and performance.
