Meet on the Move: Zoom App Comes to Ford, Lincoln Digital Experience

It’s been over 30 years since I last played paper football in a classroom, but who doesn't remember those "good old days"?
Whether you were the one carefully folding a piece of notebook paper into a perfect “football” or just watching a friend, that satisfying flick across the desk, aiming for the goalposts, often ended with a teacher's stern, "Put it away!"
I can still hear those words now, but guess what? They can't stop us anymore!

Get ready to relive this classic classroom pastime, because paper football is officially kicking off right from your in-vehicle screen! It's the latest addition to our Ford-exclusive gaming app, the Arcade Sports Collection. This app is all about bringing you a growing selection of easy, retro-inspired games designed for quick, fun sessions in your vehicle while parked, using your smartphone as the controller.
We launched the app earlier this year with beloved games like shuffleboard and button soccer. Our goal was to evoke a sense of nostalgia, whether it brought back memories of ‘80s and ‘90s arcades or even just those simple classroom games. Now, with paper football joining the lineup, we feel our collection offers a great blend of quick, engaging fun.
We've learned so much since the app's initial launch and have been busy making some quality improvements. Paper football, in particular, offers a much faster pace than shuffleboard or button soccer. Each player’s turn is super quick, meaning you can easily squeeze in an entire game in less than three minutes— perfect for those little waiting moments!

What's really cool is that we’ve learned from connected vehicle data that more than a third of all the time spent on the app has been in multiplayer, head-to-head games. And that doesn't even account for the other two-thirds who might be playing single-player but still passing the phone around! It really shows us that people are using these games to connect with one another, and that's been our biggest goal for this gaming app since day one.
So, get ready! Paper football is available right now in the Arcade Sports Collection app, found in vehicles equipped with the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. 1 Just in time for tailgate season.

A. People spend an average of 5 to 20 minutes a day waiting in their cars, often resorting to mindless scrolling on their smartphones.2 After learning of this, our teams researched better ways to enhance the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. Our goal was to provide a fun and engaging way for customers to connect with their fellow passengers — especially across generations — and ultimately infuse some fun into their day.
A. No! That is the best part about the Arcade Sports Collection app: you can use your smartphone as the gaming controller, and there is no special mobile app required. How cool is that?
1 Some Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience features require a Connected Services plan. Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
