What You Need to Know About the Updated Ford E-Tourneo Courier

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is our all-electric five-seat activity vehicle. It’s primed to help customers get the most out of every day, delivering versatile and affordable electric mobility.

With its bold design, spacious interior and connected technologies, E-Tourneo Courier enables an effortless transition to electric living. The practical design also appeals to customers who need a vehicle suitable for work as well, such as florists, dog walkers or bakers.

This exciting model brings impressive performance and smart capabilities — now enhanced with a larger battery for more range.

Let’s dive into the latest E-Tourneo Courier and what it offers.

Q: How far will it actually go on a charge?

This is the number one question we get from customers considering an electric vehicle. With our latest updates to the battery, the E-Tourneo Courier can cover up to 320 km (198 miles) on a full charge. 1

Think of it this way: even if you commute 50 km per day, you could do well over a week's work before needing to recharge the battery.

Q: Where and how can I charge it?

Our partnership with Electroverse includes access to over 1,000,000 charging points across Europe. You can find chargers, check availability and pricing, plan the most efficient route and link your Ford account.

The public charge network is ideal for longer trips or if you need a quick top-up. Approximately 10 minutes plugged into a 100 kW rapid charger will boost range by over 100 km, and recharging the battery from 10-80 per cent takes less than 30 minutes. 2

However, our research shows the vast majority of charging happens at home. There is also an increasing number of overnight public chargers in lamp posts and bollards if you don’t have off-street parking. Either way, you can recharge E-Tourneo Courier from 10-80 per cent in just over three hours with an 11 kW AC charger 2 and take full advantage of cheaper overnight energy tariffs where available.

Q: How does it fit in with family life?

We’ve packed E-Tourneo Courier with intelligent ideas designed to make life easier. The rear doors slide to open, so there’s no worry about eager kids accidentally causing damage by opening a door into another car or obstacle.

The large door openings make access and strapping children into booster seats easier, supported by two Isofix points in the rear.

There’s also a hidden cubby in the boot to keep any wet, dirty or valuable gear separate. A second storage box under the bonnet is big enough for a charging cable, backpack or to keep a handy stash of shopping bags where you won’t forget them. 3 If you need to carry larger things, folding the rear seats means items over 1.4 metres long can fit; ideal for flat-pack furniture, a golf bag, bikes or material for DIY projects.

We know a car has to be an office, dining room and playroom from time to time. The practical centre console lets you shuffle storage around for everything from a laptop to large water bottles, snacks, keys and wipes.

Q: What's it like on the road?

The convenience begins before you start — you can set the cabin temperature and demist the windscreen while still charging the battery. This is called “pre-conditioning” and is designed to make journeys more comfortable and efficient.

E-Tourneo Courier’s seating position is higher than in a typical car, giving excellent visibility. The high roofline and large windows also mean there’s plenty of headroom and natural light.

Android Auto, 4 Apple Carplay 4 and 5G connectivity 5 are standard to simplify navigation, charging, streaming audio and making calls.

If you’ve only ever driven petrol or diesel cars, you’ll notice how quiet and smooth electric driving is. E-Tourneo Courier also has a selectable one-pedal driving mode 6 that simplifies urban driving and maximises efficiency by recharging the battery when you slow down.

In one-pedal mode, it feels like you’re gently braking as soon as you lift off the accelerator until you come to a complete stop. It soon becomes second nature and can make driving in traffic less stressful. There’s still a brake for more sudden stops or for drivers who prefer separate pedals.

Q: Are electric cars easy to live with?

Electric motors have fewer moving parts than an engine, so there’s less to stay on top of. E-Tourneo Courier only needs a routine service every two years, no matter how far you’ve driven in that time, and it can be done at any Ford dealer.

Just like a phone, E-Tourneo Courier can be updated to wirelessly add new or improved features. This offers the latest software and performance without needing a trip to the dealer.

For day-to-day driving, the Ford app 7 will tell you where your vehicle is, how much battery charge it has and can even remotely lock and unlock it. The app can also give maintenance alerts if it detects problems such as low tyre pressure.
