Our Ford E-Transit Courier is an electric compact van, designed to help small businesses and fleets work smarter every day. It offers practical, affordable electric mobility while delivering on capability, uptime and connectivity.
With its robust design and advanced powertrain, E-Transit Courier is designed to make switching to electric straightforward. Now we’ve updated it to include increased battery capacity for more driving range as well as enhanced connectivity to help reduce downtime and boost productivity.
Customers are taking note of E-Transit Courier too; Bravida, Scandinavian leaders in energy-efficient heating, plumbing and ventilation, have ordered 150 vehicles as part of a 500-strong fleet order to support their service and installation teams. This is the largest-ever E-Transit Courier order in Europe and means over 70 per cent of Bravida’s electric fleet comes from Ford Pro.

Let’s take a closer look at the enhanced E-Transit Courier and how it can support your business too.

Q: What is the main change to the enhanced E-Transit Courier?
Firstly, we’ve increased the battery capacity from 43 kWh to 46 kWh. The enhanced battery means you can drive further — range is now up to 334 km, which is over 10 per cent more than before. 1
The productivity benefits don’t stop there; the updated battery also means you can use Pro Power Onboard 2 for longer. This handy 400W system turns the whole vehicle into a giant battery, so you can power tools and equipment through the 230-volt AC socket in E-Transit Courier’s dashboard. The battery makes light work of recharging tools or powering devices, and the in-cab touchscreen shows remaining energy for peace of mind.

Q: What does the longer range mean for charge times?
We’ve revised the charging system so more range doesn’t mean more downtime during the working day.
If you need a quick top-up while at work, you can add approximately 114 km of range in just 10 minutes using a 100 kW DC rapid charger. 3 For longer charges away from home or the depot, the same charger can take you from 10-80 per cent in under half an hour. 3
For most customers, most of the time, recharging happens at home or in a depot. You can take advantage of cheaper overnight energy where available using AC chargers; recharging E-Transit Courier from 10-80 per cent takes just over three hours with an 11 kW charger, or under five hours if you use a single-phase 7.4 kW home charger. 3
You can also precondition E-Transit Courier while still charging. This sets the cabin to your desired temperature, demists the windows and puts the battery in its sweet spot for maximum efficiency. Doing this while still plugged in saves the battery’s energy to give you more range when driving.

However and wherever you charge, Ford Pro Charging solutions can help you stay on top of costs and energy use to optimise efficiency. Our system also simplifies reporting and reimbursement to make managing your fleet and finances simpler.
Q: What else is new on the latest models?
Every E-Transit Courier now comes with a faster 5G modem for enhanced connectivity on the move. 4 The modem means you can contact customers and stream audio, as well as use built-in connected features to find chargers and plan the most efficient routes

Van operators tell us they rarely use public charging, but it’s still handy for those unplanned scenarios or longer diversions. We recently partnered with Electroverse to give you access to over a million public chargers across Europe. You can use the app on your phone or on E-Transit Courier’s touchscreen to locate the most convenient charger and check availability, power and cost.
We’ve also upgraded the Driver Alert System in E-Transit Courier to make it capable of detecting instances of impaired driving such as drowsiness, distraction, sudden illnesses or impaired driving. 5 This supports fleet managers meet their duty of care requirements and can help to mitigate against incidents for drivers while at work.

1 Up to 334 km driving range based on full charge of E-Transit Courier. Estimated range using Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).
2 See Owner’s Manual for important operating instructions.
3 Estimated figures given are based on E-Transit Courier. Actual charge times and charging speeds will vary according to the type of home or public charging station used, as well as other factors (including weather, ambient temperature, driving behaviour, driving profile, vehicle condition, lithium-ion battery age, condition, and temperature).
4 Connected service and features depend on network availability and compatible plan. 5G not available everywhere. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected service excludes Wi-Fi hotspot. Available Wi-Fi hotspot requires separate subscription.
5 Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgement and need to control the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.
