Ford F-Series® has been America's truck sales leader for 49 years1, and Ford credits that streak to one simple habit: listening to customers.
From work-ready XL to off-road, desert running Raptor®, every update to the latest F-150 vehicles is guided by customer feedback. A truck doesn't stay number one for 49 years on product alone; it takes a continuous dialogue between designers, engineers, and drivers.
Ford is upgrading the 2027 Ford F-150® truck lineup, with exterior refinements for an enhanced, tougher look, new BlueCruise hands-free highway driving with towing technology, an updated powertrain lineup, more accessible off-road offerings, and the new F-150 Carhartt™. Every 2027 F-150 continues to deliver the Built Ford Tough® capability that our customers expect.
How has the F-150 exterior been updated?
2027 F-150 XLT, Lariat®, King Ranch®, and Platinum® models receive newly designed, distinctive grilles and new wheel designs. This update was guided by customer feedback that they wanted a modern spin on a familiar face while still having a reliable partner for towing and work.

What is BlueCruise with Towing?
More than 75%2 of F-150 customers use their truck to tow. That's why the 2027 F-150 introduces BlueCruise with Towing3, the newest BlueCruise driver assist feature allowing customers to drive hands-free on more than 130,000 miles of pre-qualified divided highways call Blue Zones while towing their boat, trailer, or camper and keeping their eyes on the road, available first on the 2027 Ford F-150.
Ford is also making sure every customer can access the feature, not just those on the highest-end trims. Every BlueCruise-equipped 2027 F-150 will have access, from XLT and Tremor to Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. Those with an active BlueCruise subscription on the vehicle don't have to pay extra to use BlueCruise with Towing.
Quality was the priority from day one. We tested thousands of miles of U.S. roads, and in Ford's Dynamic Driving Simulator, to cover as many trailer combinations and conditions as possible, all in service of delivering a hands-free, eyes-on towing experience that meets BlueCruise’s strict safety and reliability standards.
What's changed with the F-150 powertrain lineup?
The 2027 F-150 has a new standard 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine, sharing the same core architecture as the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 it replaces. While both engines share the same peak capability, the 3.0-liter engine delivers an effortless and premium driving experience by reaching peak pulling power and providing roughly 10%-11% more torque where daily driving occurs.
Additionally, the 5.0-liter V8 engine returns to King Ranch and Platinum for the first time since 2023, making it available across the entire F-150 lineup, from XL to Platinum.
The full 2027 powertrain lineup:
- 3.0-liter EcoBoost (new base engine)4
- 5.0-liter V8 (400 hp / 410 lb-ft torque) — King Ranch, Platinum5
- 3.5-liter EcoBoost (500 lb-ft torque, towing at 13,500 lbs)6
- 3.5- liter PowerBoost™ Hybrid (570 lb-ft torque, available 2.4kW, available 7.2 kW Pro Power Onboard)7

How is Ford making off-road capability more accessible?
New entry-level Tremor® and Raptor® choices make our off-road trucks more accessible with the same tough hardware and capability with a lower price tag.
Tremor prioritizes work and recreation-ready off-road capability. The entry level Tremor is STX-based, including an STX steering wheel, manual A/C instead of Dual Zone climate control, the removal of heated front seats, a 6-speaker audio system rather than the 8- speaker B&O setup, the deletion of off-road running boards, and fixed rear glass in place of the power sliding rear window.
The entry-level Raptor prioritizes high performance off-road capability over creature comforts, removing the head-up display, fog lamps, 2kW Pro Power Onboard capability, Mobile Office package, power passenger seat, and under-seat storage, while swapping the power-adjustable steering column for a manual/tilt column and stepping down from 14-
speaker B&O audio to an 8-speaker system, all while retaining and prioritizing the high performance off-road hardware and capability that define the Raptor.
Why and how did Ford collaborate with Carhartt?
Expanding availability beyond F-Series Super Duty, the first-ever Ford F-150 Carhartt, available on 4x4 XLT Crew Cab models, is built for those who demand durability and work smart style. It brings a bold, rugged aesthetic to every corner of the truck, blending Carhartt-inspired design, work-ready bed protection, and durable interior details with the F-150 capability customers count on every day.
On the exterior, the truck rolls on unique 20-inch wheels and features distinctive fender vents and badging finished with the iconic Carhartt logo, complemented by a lower rocker and tailgate graphic that makes a statement wherever you go.
Signature headlamps and a cowl hood give the front end an aggressive, off-road-ready presence. The modified grille, dual exhaust, and off-road running boards blend performance-inspired styling with genuine workhorse capability, complemented by a spray-in bedliner proudly branded with Carhartt to protect your cargo.
Step inside, and the Carhartt’s work-ready influence continues with two-toned Carhartt themed seat covers designed to handle tough jobs and rough days, alongside updated door trim panels, center console lid, and steering wheel featuring eye-catching accent stitching for a premium yet hardworking feel.
All-weather floor mats emblazoned with the Carhartt logo complete the cabin, ensuring the truck is as ready for the elements as the brand it represents. Together, these features make the F-150 Carhartt Package a seamless fusion of rugged durability and refined truck styling.
The Carhartt Package is $4,195, with F-150 Carhartt starting at $62,660 MSRP plus destination and delivery.8
