From Hanoi to Hampshire: How 8 Ford Dealers Are Changing Lives Across the Globe

In the town of San Juan Atezcapan, about 90 miles outside of Mexico City, Eduardo Saenz Hirschfeld is focused on the long-term health of his neighbors. As the leader of Ford Grupo Picacho and a 2026 Ford Salute to Dealers honoree, Saenz Hirschfeld has dedicated himself to Proyecto Sueño Verde (Project Green Dream). This global program recognizes dealer principals who go above and beyond to serve their local communities, and Saenz Hirschfeld’s work exemplifies that commitment through sustainable infrastructure and economic support.
“Education and healthcare are the two pillars to progress in any country,” said Saenz Hirschfeld. “It is very satisfying to see people achieving social scalability.”
His work is centered on building self-sustaining systems like Brotó (To Sprout), a social enterprise that produces artisanal jams and sauces. By purchasing harvests from local farmers at fair prices and employing women from the community, Saenz Hirschfeld has helped turn local agriculture into a source of economic independence. His leadership also extends to essential infrastructure, including mapping water pipelines and reviewing electrical systems to support the region's growth. Through regular health brigades, he brings pediatricians and dentists directly to families, providing vital care to nearly 3,000 people.

Can you recall the very first time you felt the impact of helping someone in your community?
Eduardo Saenz Hirschfeld: Since I was a kid, I saw my family involved in community projects to improve the quality of life of those in need.
What is the most rewarding part of seeing your dealership employees rally together to volunteer or raise funds for a local cause?
Eduardo Saenz Hirschfeld: Leading by example a team that has acquired the culture of giving back to their community.
For a young person who wants to help their community but doesn’t know where to start, what is the first small step you would recommend they take?
Eduardo Saenz Hirschfeld: Select a specific project that inspires you. Start small and commit to a long-term project until you make it sustainable.
For 26 years, Ford has celebrated the extraordinary contributions of its dealers through the Salute to Dealers program. Congratulations and thank you to all eight of the 2026 honorees for their commitment to service.
