Halloween is all about creating spooktactular memories the whole neighborhood will talk about for weeks. Creative Ford electric vehicle owners are leveling up and ditching the traditional Trunk or Treat and pioneering “Frunk or Treat” by using their vehicles’ unique features to create an electrifyingly eerie Halloween experience.
From giant inflatable decorations on Lightning trucks to haunted dioramas on Mustang Mach-E SUVs, these owners are the new legends of the parking lot. Want to join them? Here’s a look at how they’re doing it, and how you can too.

Frunk or Treat Tip #1 – Go Big, Go Bright
In Florida, F-150 Lightning owner Bryan decided his kids’ school event needed a serious "wow" factor. So, he used his truck’s Pro Power Onboard to unleash a giant inflatable dinosaur that towered over the school festivities. With no noisy generator, he created the most talked-about display of the night. In Massachusetts, owner Craig did something similar, using his Lightning to power a terrifying haunted spider display, complete with lights and inflatables.
How to Do it:
- Think Beyond the Yard: Your biggest and best decorations like inflatables and animated characters can now be the star of the Trunk or Treat parking lot.
- Power Up with Pro Power Onboard*: Use your F-150 Lightning’s built-in outlets to power blowers, lights, and animated figures. You get all the impact without the noise or fumes of a gas generator.
- Level Up with a Light Show: Don't stop at inflatables. Plug in strobes or black lights to create a full, immersive, and spooky atmosphere.

Frunk or Treat Tip #2 – Fill up that Frunk!
The real magic of "Frunk or Treat" lies in the frunk itself. Owners are transforming this unique space into the ultimate Halloween centerpiece to hold candies and treats. Plus, frunks are the perfect height to offer candy to trick-or-treaters.
In Washington , Emily and Mac turned their Mustang Mach-E into a larger-than-life Cookie Monster display, delighting trick or treaters with a frunk full of cookies. Down in Florida, Billy took creativity to another level with his pirate-themed Mustang Mach-E, creating a true treasure chest overflowing with candy.
How To Do It:
- Choose a Theme: The frunk is a natural stage and the Trunk or Treat displays with the best themes get the most action. Create a scary diorama. Turn your frunk into a bubbling cauldron overflowing with candy or mad scientist's lab with creepy fog.
- Add a Soundtrack: Plug in speakers to your F-150 Lightning’s Pro Power Onboard or your Mustang Mach-E's stereo to play spooky music, ghoulish screams or other terrifying sound effects to set the mood.
- Frighten them with Fog: Adding a fog machine or using dry ice to create an eerie atmosphere can turn your vehicle into a haunted house .
Frunk or Treat Tip #3 - Be a Hero for Parents
While the kids are collecting candy, savvy owners have created welcome pit stops for the parent. By using their vehicle's power, they're offering cool, non-alcoholic concoctions that make the night more enjoyable for everyone .
How To Do It:
- Set Up a Warming Station: On a chilly October night, nothing beats a warm drink. Plug in a slow cooker or kettle and offer parents hot cocoa or warm apple cider using your F-150 Lightning’s Pro Power Onboard.
- Create a Charging Hub: Beat the curse of a dead phone by setting up a parent charging station. They'll love the chance to top off their batteries while their kids fill their candy bags.
- Light the Way: Use your F-150 Lightning’s 360° Zone Lighting to create a well-lit area around your vehicle, giving parents peace of mind.
These owners prove that a Ford electric vehicle is more than just a way to get around—it's a tool for making memories and bringing creativity to life. Now it's your turn to join the "Frunk and Fright" movement.
