The F-150 Lobo Is the Full-Size Street Truck America’s Waited For

Whether he’s training in the gym, competing on the field, or trekking through the woods, Los Angeles Football Club starting midfielder Mark Delgado demands power, precision, and drive from himself in everything he does.
He also grew up in Southern California — a place with a vibrant street truck culture that played no small part in inspiring the Ford F-150 Lobo.
So what’s a Southern California boy with a high standard of performance have to say about the new Lobo? We were just as curious — so we asked.
What’s your first impression of the F-150 Lobo?
Very aggressive. I love the look. I think it’s more than just a truck. It draws attention. It’s definitely something I’d like to have, personally.
What are your favorite features? Is there something that sticks out to you the most?
It’s got a big body, and the grill has this low-sitting stance to it. The headlights across the grill are a nice touch, too. It looks sporty and aggressive.
As a starting midfielder for LAFC, what does performance mean to you both on and off the field?
Performance means extreme discipline. Taking care of myself, watching what I eat, staying hydrated, doing everything I can so when I step on the field, I’m well prepared, well rested, and ready to push the limits. Push the engine to the extreme. That’s the way I go. I give everything I have, mind and body.

LAFC has a famously passionate fan base. What does it mean for you to play for this city and its supporters?
It’s very special. It’s something I hold dearly to my heart and don’t take lightly. Being a kid from Southern California and being able to play at home in front of the Black and Gold, the 3252, in the city of LA is something that I’ve always dreamed of. I have moments during warmups or gametime where I take in the atmosphere, the scenery, and it’s honestly breathtaking. It’s surreal, to be honest.
Given your busy schedule and the demands of being a professional athlete, what do you look for in a vehicle to support your lifestyle?
I’m a very active person, very outdoorsy. I like to stay busy. I’m never still for too long. So my vehicle needs enough space for my hiking stuff, my skateboard, my bike. Whatever it is, I want to have it all there ready to go so I can be on the go whenever I want.
“It's more than a truck, just like I'm more than an athlete.”Mark Delgado, Los Angeles Foodball Club
Do you also look for performance in the vehicle you’re driving?
Definitely. I hope the vehicle I have has a lot of horsepower to get me where I’m going — safely, of course. And whatever vehicle I have, it’s got to describe me. It has to fit my personality.
To me, the Lobo seems like it would do that. It’s more than just a truck, just like I’m more than just an athlete. It’s sporty, it’s aggressive, it’s “look at me!” It doesn’t look like a boring old truck. I have a big personality, and this truck has a big personality. If you’ve got a big personality, this truck is for you.
